Volume 11: My First Heart Break, Rabbit-man-spider-boy
Kaya,
I have been thinking a lot lately about the power of words. Specifically, the word ‘love’.
It’s funny how we use it - more often than not, it’s used in the context of romantic love. Conditional love.
Upon this reflection, I asked myself: when was the earliest time I remember using this word? (outside of family, I mean). Turns out, what it meant to me and how I expressed it became a lesson.
That lesson broke my heart, but not so much in the way you’d expect.
The next story is an old one. I wrote it many months ago - it was going to go into the colossal project which was Volume 4 but it was already way too beefy so it was cut.
This story is about a rabbit-man-spider-boy. May he find peace.
Dassit.
Cheers again for taking the time to read. And thanks to those of you who respond - as always, very much appreciated.
May you find some respite away from the screens this week. A few healthy tips for you:
1. Read more, scroll less.
Doctors say you shouldn’t be on the screens an hour before bed. Reading books is like giving your oculars a little massage. I’d recommend fiction - much more fun.
2. Take your shoes off and move.
Even if you are in the office. Especially if you are in the office.
Walk, stretch, breathe - whatever you gotta do, Brenda. When people see you doing this, it gives them permission to do so too.
3. Go for a wander.
Not a walk, a wander.
A walk has a destination. A wander embraces flow. Make the decision, put aside an hour (or two, or three) and start wandering. Perhaps you want to follow the colour blue, or even explore a bush block.
Now’s the time. In fact, it’s the only time we really have.
If you want, tag me on socials - I’d love to see what you and Country are up to.

Until next time, pilgrims.
