Volume 6: Whispers from the Boorna
Reflections on time:
G'day howyasgarn
Hope yous are well. I turned 35 on Sunday. I don’t know about you, but birthdays hit different in your mid-30s. Just felt like another day really. I got up, did some work (yes I am THAT dedicated to my craft), then sat at my PC and played Battlefield 6 for 4 hours with the boys (who forgot it was my birthday but that's okay I forgave them). Got a text from mum and dad and my brother, got a ph call from a cousin and an aunty, and received Japanese Genmaicha single blend loose leaf tea as a present (the only present I received on the day).
"Getting older now" people usually say in their mid 30's. Then the usual complaints follow about not having enough time and not being able to drink like they used to. Tell you what, though - your 30's are already so much cooler than your 20's. 30's feel way more important... like... what you do now matters. Now feels like the appropriate time. I think in your 20's you kind of rely on everyone else to prop you up and hold you through your life, but 30's - you realise that you are the master of your own domain. You are in the driver's seat and only you are truly responsible for your happiness.
This got me thinking about time, so I wrote a poem:
On Borrowed Time
Where has the time gone?
As if it ran away.
Nay, I say -
it is right there,
and there,
and then,
and here,
and now.
Time whispers,
“Take me, I’m yours.”
But we don’t listen.
We watch time.
We borrow time.
We make time.
We chase time.
We say:
time is money,
money is power,
power is fleeting -
so what, then,
is time?
A trickster, maybe.
A mirror.
A tide that returns,
but never the same wave twice.
And yet
if you stand still long enough,
you might feel it pause with you.
Not gone.
Just waiting
to be noticed.
Looking forward to my "real" birthday this Saturday 1st where me and my boys are going bar hopping on Beaufort st. If you're around Beaufort - look out for us, would love to say hello.
eLearning Revamp and Relaunch
I love to deliver. I am the Delivery Master. Get me in front of a room of people and I am exactly where I need to be.
Online? I like this, too. Not as fun as in person but I will admit I do like the advantage of having pants as optional for this kind of delivery.
As Modern Custodian grows, so does my content. It's hard to do this alone, which is why I teamed up with the mob at Hungryminds who helped to recreate the eLearning for Acknowledge This!
Let me tell you - there's nothing more satisfying than to be able to deliver content, record it, and send it to them so they can just... work their magic.
And magic is what it is, my dear friends. This eLearning is not just another tick and flick get-a-certificate-and-move-on kind of deal. It's authentic, it's interactive and it's fun.
I designed the eLearning this way for those who can't attend the public or private workshops. So sit back, grab a cuppa and check it out here.

> No solo attendees - bring a mate/colleague. You need at least one person who knows you (you'll see why in chapter 1).
> Wear comfy clothes (you'll see why in chapter 2).
> Come with an open mind and heart - Authentic You is designed as a deep exploration of self.
Thank you Chloe Lagrenade, CEO of Teach, Learn, Grow - who served as a catalyst to this decision of launching a public trial. And to my mate Beau to whom when I shared Authentic You with, goes: "bro, my misso NEEDS to do this".
Anyone and everyone is invited.Once you have your ticket, I will send out an official invite. I am looking to trial this with a maximum of 30 people - so get in quick.
This will be an experiment in honesty, play, and presence. I can’t wait to walk this with you.
Final thought - A whisper from the Great Boorna:
Your attention is sacred.
James Redfield wrote, “Where attention goes, energy flows.”
In Aboriginal lore, the Ancients teach that we are part of systems - not separate from them. The Boorna (tree) reminds us: as above, so below.
There is what we see - the branches, the leaves, the bark.
There is what we hear - the whispers carried by the wind.
And there is what we feel - the shade it offers so generously.
Science tells us the Boorna was the first to grow toward the sun.
The Old People would say this was no accident - it was a conscious choice by the spirit of Boorna itself.
The Boorna reminds us that Country does not forget.
Country endures - and so do we.
So choose, my friends.
Choose to remember that you, like the Boorna, are part of a living system -
one that depends on every seen and unseen energy
to live,
to grow,
to reach for light.
Until next we cross paths,
Much love,
The Custodian
